Nueva Andalucía was laid out in the late 1960s by José Banús as the residential hinterland of his marina. The golf came first — Los Naranjos and Las Brisas were drawn by Robert Trent Jones Sr. — and the villas followed the fairways.
It is the closest thing Marbella has to a year-round neighbourhood. The supermarkets are open in February. The school run exists. This is why families who try the Golden Mile often end up here.
Liquidity is the zone’s defining trait: more residences trade in Nueva Andalucía in a year than in La Zagaleta, Sierra Blanca and the Golden Mile combined. Pricing is correspondingly more efficient — and opportunities briefer.
